At Speed EFX, we’re all about pushing the boundaries of automotive protection and aesthetics. For a high-performance daily like the RS6 Avant, PPF lays the foundation for long-term rock-chip defense and a flawless finish, especially when paired with ceramic coating and quality tint. Recently, we had the pleasure of working on an Audi RS6 Avant, a car that embodies the perfect fusion of power, luxury, and practicality. Our mission: to equip this beast with a full paint protection film (PPF), a ceramic coating, and a complete window tint. Here’s a detailed look at how we transformed this stunning vehicle.
Step 1: Full Paint Protection Film (PPF)
The Audi RS6 Avant is built for performance, and with great power comes the need for great protection. PPF is the ideal solution to safeguard the car’s paint from rock chips, scratches, and other potential damage. Given the aggressive driving style this car encourages, PPF is a no-brainer.
- Thorough Wash and Decontamination: The first step was to give the RS6 Avant a thorough wash, followed by a decontamination process to remove any dirt, grime, and contaminants. This is crucial for ensuring a smooth surface for the PPF application.
- Precision Cutting: Using a state-of-the-art plotter, we custom-cut the PPF to perfectly fit each panel of the RS6 Avant. Precision is key here to ensure seamless coverage.
- Meticulous Application: Our skilled technicians applied the PPF to the most vulnerable areas first, including the front bumper, hood, and side mirrors. Each piece was carefully placed and smoothed out to eliminate any bubbles or imperfections.
- Final Inspection: After the PPF was applied, we conducted a thorough inspection to ensure every inch of the car was covered perfectly and free from defects.
Step 2: Ceramic Coating
While PPF provides robust protection, adding a ceramic coating takes it to the next level. The ceramic coating not only enhances the PPF’s durability but also gives the car an incredible gloss and hydrophobic properties, making maintenance a breeze.
- Surface Preparation: Even with the PPF applied, we prepped the surface by ensuring it was clean and free from any residues that could affect the ceramic coating’s bonding process.
- Application: Using high-quality ceramic coating products, we carefully applied the coating over the entire vehicle. This process requires precision and patience to achieve a flawless finish.
- Curing: The ceramic coating needs time to cure properly. We allowed the RS6 Avant to sit in our controlled environment to ensure the coating hardened and bonded correctly.
Step 3: Full Window Tint
Why Tint the Windows?
Window tinting not only enhances the car’s appearance but also provides privacy and protection from harmful UV rays. For the Audi RS6 Avant, a high-quality tint adds to the overall aggressive and sleek look.
- Choosing the Right Tint: We consulted with the owner to select the perfect tint shade that balances aesthetics, privacy, and legal requirements.
- Precise Application: Our team applied the window tint with meticulous care, ensuring no bubbles or creases. We used heat guns and specialized tools to achieve a seamless finish.
- Final Touches: Once applied, we inspected the tint to ensure it was flawless and provided the desired level of shading and protection.
The Grand Reveal
After several days of dedicated work, the Audi RS6 Avant was ready for its grand reveal. The transformation was nothing short of spectacular. The full PPF and ceramic coating gave the car a stunning, glossy finish that highlighted its aggressive lines, while the tinted windows added a touch of mystery and sophistication.
